Submission Guidelines and Manuscript Preparation
The Journal of Sports Medicine and Therapy (JSMT) invites submissions of original research, clinical studies, case reports, and review articles focusing on all aspects of sports medicine and therapy. We aim to provide a comprehensive platform for advancing knowledge, clinical practices, and therapeutic methods related to sports and physical activity.
Types of Manuscripts
The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:
- Original Research Articles: These articles present new findings in the field of sports medicine and therapy, including novel approaches to injury prevention, rehabilitation, or sports-related health.
- Clinical Studies: Research involving clinical trials, therapeutic techniques, and the effectiveness of sports medicine treatments on patients.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive overviews of current research, trends, and best practices in sports medicine and therapy.
- Case Reports: Brief reports on specific clinical cases, providing insights into sports injuries, treatments, and outcomes.
- Letters to the Editor: Concise comments, opinions, or responses to published works in the field of sports medicine.
Manuscript Submission Process
To submit a manuscript to JSMT, authors should follow these guidelines:
- Manuscript Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. PDF submissions will only be accepted after initial manuscript acceptance.
- Title Page: Include a title page with the manuscript, containing the article title, author(s) full names, institutional affiliations, and the corresponding author’s contact information.
- Abstract: Provide an abstract (150-250 words) summarizing the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
- Keywords: Include 3-5 keywords related to the research topic for indexing purposes.
- Introduction: Present the background of the research, including the rationale, research questions, and hypotheses.
- Materials and Methods: Clearly describe the methods, procedures, instruments, and statistical tools used in the study.
- Results and Discussion: Present and discuss the findings of the study, supported by tables, figures, and statistical analysis.
- Conclusion: Summarize the key findings and their implications for sports medicine and therapy.
- References: References should be cited in National Library of Medicine (NLM) style, numbered consecutively in the order they are cited within the manuscript.
Figures and Tables
Figures and tables should be integrated into the manuscript text. Ensure that each figure and table is numbered and has a corresponding title and caption.
- Figures: Figures should be submitted in high-resolution formats (JPEG, PNG, or TIFF), with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI for clarity and visual appeal.
- Tables: Tables should be numbered consecutively and appear after the references section. Each table should be accompanied by a clear title.
Ethical Approval and Consent
All research involving human participants must have been reviewed and approved by an appropriate ethics committee. Authors should include a statement in the manuscript indicating that ethical approval was obtained. For clinical trials, authors must provide evidence of informed consent from participants.
Plagiarism Check
All manuscripts submitted to JSMT will undergo a plagiarism check. Any manuscript found to have significant overlap with previously published work will be rejected.
Manuscript Review and Acceptance
Manuscripts will be reviewed by at least two independent experts in the field. Based on feedback, the manuscript may be accepted, revised, or rejected. Authors must address reviewer comments and resubmit the revised manuscript before final acceptance.
