Author Guidelines
The Journal of Sports Medicine and Therapy (JSMT) is dedicated to publishing high-quality research on sports medicine, rehabilitation, and related fields. The journal aims to share the latest findings and advancements in the science of physical medicine and therapy. Below are the guidelines for authors wishing to submit their manuscripts for publication.
Types of Articles
We invite the following types of manuscripts for submission:
- Original Research Articles: Manuscripts that present original research on any aspect of sports medicine, rehabilitation, physical therapy, and related fields.
- Review Articles: Detailed reviews of existing literature, focusing on emerging trends, treatments, and methodologies in sports medicine and therapy.
- Case Studies: Reports of specific patient cases that contribute valuable insights into clinical practice in sports medicine and therapy.
Submission Process
Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts online through the journal’s submission system. Please follow the below instructions to ensure proper formatting and successful submission:
- Manuscript Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). PDF files will not be accepted.
- Page Layout: Manuscripts should be typed in 12-point font (Times New Roman), with 1-inch margins on all sides. Use double line spacing throughout the manuscript.
- Title Page: Include the title of the article, names and affiliations of all authors, corresponding author’s contact information, and a statement of any conflicts of interest.
- Abstract: Provide a structured abstract (250 words or less), summarizing the research question, methods, results, and conclusions of your study.
- Keywords: Provide 3-5 keywords that describe the subject matter of your article to enhance searchability.
- Figures and Tables: Figures should be in high-resolution (300 DPI) and placed within the manuscript where relevant. Tables should be numbered sequentially and cited in the text.
Ethical Considerations
All manuscripts involving human or animal subjects must comply with ethical standards and have received appropriate approval from an institutional review board (IRB) or ethics committee. Authors are required to include an ethics statement in their manuscript, along with the approval details.
Human studies must include a statement of informed consent from all participants, and authors must ensure the protection of privacy and confidentiality. For studies involving animals, adherence to accepted guidelines for the care and use of animals is required.
Authors must ensure the originality of their work and avoid plagiarism. All submitted articles are subjected to plagiarism checks to uphold academic integrity.

The Journal of Sports Medicine and Therapy follows the National Library of Medicine (NLM) citation style for references. Please ensure all references are formatted as follows:

Peer Review Process
The Journal of Sports Medicine and Therapy utilizes a double-blind peer-review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Manuscripts are evaluated based on their scientific merit, relevance to the journal’s scope, and clarity of presentation.
After review, authors will be notified of the decision, which may be to accept, reject, or request revisions. Authors should promptly address any reviewer comments and resubmit revised manuscripts for further consideration.
Manuscript Withdrawal
Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript before the peer-review process begins. Once the review process is initiated, withdrawal requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis. If an article has been accepted for publication, withdrawal is generally not allowed unless under exceptional circumstances.
